{"id":10224,"date":"2015-07-23T11:56:13","date_gmt":"2015-07-23T02:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.humetaylor.com.au\/?p=10224"},"modified":"2015-07-23T11:56:13","modified_gmt":"2015-07-23T02:26:13","slug":"what-is-conveyancing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.humetaylor.com.au\/site\/2015\/07\/23\/what-is-conveyancing\/","title":{"rendered":"What is conveyancing?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Conveyancing encompasses a broad range of land transactions, but most commonly it involves the transfer of land from one owner to another.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of matters involved with conveyancing, which may include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li>negotiating with the bank who currently holds a mortgage on the property<\/li>\n<li>negotiating with the bank who is financing the purchase<\/li>\n<li>ensuring the transfer of ownership and settlement is correctly completed<\/li>\n<li>payment of Stamp Duty and Land Titles Office fees, and<\/li>\n<li>notifying local State and Federal authorities of the change of ownership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Buying or selling through a real estate agent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When buying or selling through a real estate agent, your solicitor will take the matter from the point of an executed contract through to completion of the change of ownership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Private sales<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have sold or purchased a property through a private sale or transferring land (such as between family members) your solicitor will have to attend to additional matters.
